One-of-a-Kind Field Harvest Experience (Deposit)
One-of-a-Kind Field Harvest Experience (Deposit)
Get closer to your food, get closer to nature, and come join us on the ranch for a one-of-a-kind field harvest experience.
We are offering only one of these experiences this winter.
Here are the details:
You and a group of your friends and/or family meet Sarah and Matt at their house on the ranch at 8:30 AM.
The day will start with homemade pastries, coffee, and conversation by the wood stove about bison, NBB, regenerative agriculture, etc.
We will then drive out to the bison herd, where you are free to take as many photos as you’d like — and we’ll continue the conversation about bison while being among the herd.
Matt will then field-harvest a bison, and we will take the bison to a different pasture on the ranch to begin field-dressing it.
Matt will slowly walk the group through the field-dressing process and show them how it’s done.
Once the bison has been field-dressed, we will head back to the ranch house to wash hands, clean up, and say our goodbyes.
Matt will then take the bison to the Amsterdam Meat Shop west of Bozeman, where it will be skinned, washed, and dry-aged. Folks are welcome to join Matt at Amsterdam or call it a day at the ranch house.
What else is included?
One whole bison. The field-harvested bison will be for the group. One person from the group will talk to Amsterdam Meat Shop post-field-harvest to talk through how you’d like the bison butchered and packaged.
The head and hide from the bison. These will be fresh (not taxidermied), and we can recommend a local taxidermist.
All of the marrow bones and organ meats from your bison.
Some NBB merchandise for everyone.
Additional Details:
The group size is limited to 8 people. You plus seven friends / work colleagues / family members / etc.
We will plan to do this on a Friday this winter (2024-25). We will work out a day that works best for everyone.
An additional $5,000 payment will be due the day of the field-harvest (so the total cost for the experience, the bison meat, etc. is $10,000 for the whole group).
If the group is from Montana, we can coordinate pickup or delivery of your bison once it’s been dry-aged, cut, wrapped, frozen, and boxed.
If the group is from out of state, we can ship the meat to you, and we just ask to be reimbursed for the shipping fee.
You’re responsible for the butcher fee to Amsterdam Meat Shop, which is usually around $800 or $900.
One whole bison will yield around 350 - 400 lbs. of delicious, healthy, regenerative bison meat (not including the marrow bones and organ meats).
The ranch is located in the Shields Valley 30 miles northeast of Bozeman, Montana. We are happy to help with lodging, restaurant recommendations, ideas for other activities, etc.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us at info@northbridgerbison.com.
We are excited to see you on the ranch and have you join us for a field-harvest!
