Life and Death

Here are some photos Kyle Dudgeon captured from our field-harvest two weeks ago.

We are proud of our field-harvest process — no stress for the bison, no stress in the meat.

We also believe strongly in transparency.

Life and death are inescapable.

They’re part of nature — and certainly part of eating food, regardless of whether it’s a delicious medium-rare bison ribeye or a tasteless slab of plant-based poison.

As such, we celebrate our process and the dead bison, and we share these photos.

We lean into the reality of death in food; we don’t try to hide it in the basement.

Because — it’s part of life, it’s part of eating, it’s part of everything.

And, ultimately, here on our ranch, we think it’s beautiful.
