Dreams
Five years and 12 days ago I took Otto, Greta, and Aldo (we miss you so much, Bird Dog) to look at a piece of land in the Shields Valley.
We came back with Sarah the next weekend — and it’s been a wild-ass ride ever since.
As a rancher, small-business-owner, husband, father, and frustrated Cubs fan, I’m fortunate to have a full plate, and I don’t do a lot of looking backwards.
I’m focused on the week in front of me, my to-do list, and trying to keep all of these different moving parts going forward in the right direction without burning another truck to the ground or breaking my ankle again.
But I thought of this picture today — and how it’s been over five years since we found this land we’re so madly in love with — and I thought I’d share it — and remind you all to dream — to dream big, dream often, dream wildly — and when you zero in on a dream that hits you hard in the gut in the best way imaginable — chase that son of a bitch with all you got.
Because — life is short, and some dreams are meant to be chased.
Happy dreaming, and thank you — from the bottom of our hearts — for supporting this crazy dream of ours.
