Field-Harvesting at 19 Below Zero

I field-harvested a bison on Friday.

It was 19 below zero.

When you have a slot at the butcher, you saddle up and get it done.

And I find there’s something extra special about field-harvesting in the deep cold.

It demands that you be present.

No mind-wandering.

It’s like flow state on steroids.

You are focused and present and working, and all of your senses are more alive.

I love it.

Thank you, Bison.

Thank you, Land.

Thank you, Cold.
