Respect the Cold; Don't Fear the Cold

After an unusually warm December, we finally got our first blast of winter cold last weekend.

One morning it was 41 below zero at our house, and two mornings later it was 31 below zero.

It warms up during the day, and going for a run on a cold, sunny day is something I really love.

It’s cold enough that you’re definitely aware of the cold, but your body heats up enough that you’re sweating and comfortable (for the most part).

And the best part is the “beardsicle” that develops over the course of the run.

Otto and Greta always get a big kick out of it.

So here’s to a the first cold snap and the first beardsicle run of the winter.
