Remembering Peter Otto Skoglund (1946 - 2024)

We are a ranch. And a bison meat business.

We are also humans — and, as we share our story, we sometimes share our humanity.

Today is one of those days.

—————

If you knew my dad, you knew a great man.

Four weeks ago, he unexpectedly died of a heart attack after going for his morning swim.

Sarah, Otto, Greta, and I are devastated.

Peter Otto Skoglund was a selfless, kind, loving, funny, generous man.

He was a good man — with a huge heart — and he did things the right way.

He was also the biggest fan of North Bridger Bison on the face of the earth.

And – to be direct – without the love and support he gave me for 45 years, none of this would be happening.

North Bridger Bison would not exist.

Not a chance.

My dad’s love and support gave me confidence, it gave me courage, and it gave me strength.

I was lucky to have the world’s greatest dad, and I am so proud to be his son.

I want to scream it from the top of the mountains.

And because of his deep love and support for North Bridger Bison, I felt it was important to share this news.

A great man has gone up to the stars.

North Bridger Bison stands on his strong shoulders, and we will always will.

Thank you, Dad, for everything.

I love you.

Sleep well.
